Join your 46th Legislative District legislators for an in-person town hall on Thursday, Jan. 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. The event will be held at the North Seattle College Auditorium, 9600 College Way N., Seattle. Sen. Javier Valdez, Rep. Darya Farivar and Rep. Gerry Pollet will host the town hall.
Editorial from the web gardener: Our state is too important to let the politicians run it without supervision. No matter what, the state has more needs than it has money, and policymakers must decide how to allocate precious, limited resources among competing needs. This is always the case and is the essence of politics. In a democracy, politicians are supposed to represent us, but they can't do that if they don't hear from us. That's just basic civics 101.

Sunday, January 31st: 3 PM - 5 PM followed by a potluck dinner.
A class on how to prepare your home and family for a disaster. Our instructor will be the incomparable Ann Forest, a volunteer with the Seattle Office of Emergency Management.
The class will be 2 hours in length, followed by a potluck dinner.
Participants should bring something to eat for at least 5 people. Make sure it can sit for a couple of hours without spoiling or melting (The club has 2 refrigerators, but space in both is limited. We have a small Microwave oven). Be sure to label the dish with what it is (a list of ingredients) and your name.

Both classes have the same content - Adult/Child/Infant CPR/AED Certification. The two classes are different places, days, and times.

Haller Lake Community Dance
Second Saturday of the month,
6:00 PM-8:00 PM
Enjoy reels, circles, contra & square dances with LIVE music by local musicians! Dances are taught on-the-spot by caller Sherry Nevins. Everyone can join in – the dances are easy and fun for all ages, and no dance experience or partner is needed. Please bring your own drinking water and a snack to share if you would like.

Haller Lake Community Yoga

Class taught by Jessica Brustad from The Funny Yogi. Lunch time community yoga for all ages (over 18) on Tuesdays at noon. All levels are welcome.
