HLCC Monthly Meeting

November 7 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Speaker change: Quadrant Homes had to cancel due to family emergency.

Instead, Steve Zemke of the Seattle Urban Forestry Commission. Steve will speak to us about tree canopy preservation efforts in Seattle and efforts to update the Tree and Urban Forest Protection Ordinance by the Seattle City Council.

Socializing starts at 7:00; the meeting starts at 7:30.

All Ages Game Night!

November 16th, from 4pm to 9pm

Let's play games! We've got games to suit any player style and level: Scythe, Monopoly, Gloomhaven, Scrabble, 7 Wonders Duel, Skip-Bo, Blood Rage, Azul, Wingspan... we've got plenty to choose from. Or, you can bring your own to teach and enjoy!

There is also a huge collection of games aimed at ages 3+, so the whole family can come and play! And then there is ping pong, hot popcorn, and sometimes video games as well.

Some of us bring snacks and drinks to share. There’s usually a delivery food order around 5:30 or 6:00.

HLCC Monthly Meeting

By now you've heard the NHL is coming to Seattle with a training facility and ice rinks at Northgate Mall. At our monthly meeting Lance Lopes from NHL Seattle will discuss progress on those rinks, the types of activities they will be programming within the facility, and he'll update us on the process of bringing hockey to Seattle.

There will also be a bake sale benefiting the Northgate Elementary School PTO's general fund. That money supports special events, classroom supply grants for teachers, student scholarships and more.

We're getting new neighbors...a lot of them. Barbara Yarington from Quadrant homes will talk about the new town home complex that will be built on 125th.

King County Metro will be coming to talk about how Metro bus service will be designed in orientation with the coming 130th and 145th St light rail stations.

HLCC Monthly Meeting

Mary Amberg, Crime Prevention Coordinator for the North Precinct of the Seattle Police Department, and an SPD officer will speak. They will provide an overview and update on crime trends and statistics in Haller Lake and surrounding areas. Mary will also provide tips and suggestions on how to prevent crime and be safe.

HLCC Monthly Meeting

A representative from the Urban Native Education Alliance will provide brief history of their grassroots organization and the services they provide to elevate and support urban Native students and community.

These programs are a national model of cultural responsive educational support honoring the uniqueness and collective experiences of our tribal youth.
