Movie: Sam Now
Thursday, December 7 2023
7:00 PM – 8:30 PM
We'll be airing the award-winning documentary "Sam Now", which was created by Reed Harkness, who grew up right here in Haller Lake. Twenty-five years in the making, Reed went about the business of filming his younger half-sibs in skit-like home movies. Eventually, this morphed into a more serious production when Sam and Jared, now teens, cope with the stress of a missing mom. She left Seattle for good without telling anyone and stayed hidden for 2 1/2 years. The story arc ascends when Sam and Reed hunt down Jois, Sam’s mom.
This is a story of redemption, loss, family bonds, and very mixed emotions.
We'll have a Q&A at the end with Jared, and Sam and Jared's father (Randy Harkness).
