We had crisp, clear weather for our second neighborhood cleanup on February 10. One crew worked 137th, north of the former Sam’s Club, and another the cul de sac of Ashworth, just south of 125th. Both spots look great, after one and a half pickup loads of trash and recycling were driven off! I wish I had thought to take before and after pictures.
Please thank Albertson’s and the Helene Madison pool, who let us use their dumpsters.
And great thanks to all the volunteers who turned out: Brian Smith, Maria McCrackin, Doug Collins, Tamami Matsuzaki, JD and Anne Level, Randy and Reed Harkness, Jennifer Warren, and Heather Hawksford.
I especially liked working with the kids who came out: Paige, Mason, Dean, Wolfy, and Lincoln!
After our hard work, we rewarded ourselves with pizza, biscotti, and (kind of old) ice cream at the community club.
